Toshiba Laptops
The history of Toshiba goes way, way back before there were Toshiba laptops on the market. It even goes back before there was a Toshiba, with two separate companies: Shibaura Seisakusho, first founded in 1875 and making telegraph gear; and Tokyo Denki, founded in 1890, and making consumer goods like incandescent electronics (consumer electronics in 1890 being things like new-fangled incandescent lightbulbs; this was way before Toshiba laptops could even be dreamed of).
In 1939, the two companies merged, becoming Toshiba, and then we skip ahead to the important bit, 1986, since that's when the first, fledgling Toshiba laptops appeared. Given that this was in the 80's, they were probably rather big, but my, how Toshiba laptops have got smaller and lighter over the years!
In the modern world, Toshiba laptops run the gamut from powerful, widescreen monsters, to little, gutsy mini-notebooks. Basically, there's one for everyone, and no matter what you need from your laptop, you're pretty much sure to find what you want within the range of Toshiba laptops available.
