Toshiba laptops on top of the world
The durability of Toshiba laptops has been pushed to the very limit of late, with three extraordinary survival stories from around the globe.
Canadian mountaineer Manuel Pizarro told of how his Toshiba laptop was the only one left functioning at the top of the world, during a Mount Everest summit expedition.
Six other climbing parties lost use of their laptops by around 20,000 feet with failed screens and burst hard drives. However, it seems Toshiba laptops can survive the altitude, as the Tecra A8 was still in full use at the top of Everest at temperatures between minus twenty five and thirty degrees.
And if that doesn’t say enough about the engineering of Toshiba laptops, it also survived a high fall from a jagged rocky ledge!
Surviving the odds
Oddly, two other impressive incidences of Toshiba laptops have also surfaced recently. Paramedic Tom Carrier recalls the moment one of his Toshiba laptops was run over by an ambulance vehicle at work. The Satellite Pro 4300 was found next to the wheel, and Carrier was sure it was beyond repair. Sure enough, the screen was cracked and the CD drive was jammed.
However, Tom was still able to boot up his laptop and retrieve all his data and vital information, without hassle. Tom shares his thoughts on Toshiba laptops: “Kudos to the engineers and manufacturers that have placed real world strength into the laptops!”
If it seems Toshiba laptops couldn’t possibly endure anything more, how about being blown from a car roof rack by 100km headwinds while the vehicle itself travels at 100km per hour? Almost certain Toshiba laptops wouldn’t withstand such a blow, Larry Turner booted his up following the incident and to his sheer surprise found everything in working order - and not a single piece of data lost.
So if you’re in the market for a new PC, and happen to be a little accident prone, you should certainly be heading in the direction of the invincible Toshiba laptops.
