Toshiba laptops go touchscreen

Toshiba laptops have thrown their hat into the touchscreen ring with the unveiling of a new laptop that features touch control technology.

The Toshiba laptops Satellite U500 1EX has a 13.3-inch screen which users can control with their fingertips, making it the latest of many touchscreen laptops to be launched in recent times.

The laptops take their touchscreen functionality from the Windows 7 Touch Pack add-on, meaning that users will be able to perform a pre-defined set of functions and cursor movements via the screen.

Under the hood, the new Toshiba laptops come with a massive 4GB of DDR 3 memory and a huge 320GB hard drive. The laptops also feature HDMI and USB ports, Wi-Fi capabilities and a multi-format DVD writer.
