Flexible choice with Tesco’s new mobile broadband range
Tesco is offering a selection of 30 free
free laptops to customers as part of its new mobile broadband deal. The retailer says its ‘choose your own’ free laptops offer is the largest available from any high-street retailer. Consumers shopping for mobile broadband with the supermarket giant can select from a variety of free laptops or netbooks.
The free laptops will be part of the mobile broadband packages at Tesco’s online mobile phone site and 50 of its in-store phone shops. The move comes after rumours circulated the supermarket giant was moving into mobile broadband, when it pledged to double its number of in-store telecoms shops.
Free laptops include Dell model
One of the free laptops available with Tesco’s mobile broadband deals is the Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop with a 24-month mobile broadband package from 3. The contract is £29.36 per month. Users can also choose from the Compaq CQ60-214EM, which has 3GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive.
This mobile broadband package is available through either Orange or 3 for £34.26 a month. The deals for free laptops are similar to those of the Carphone Warehouse, which launched a combination of free laptops and mobile broadband packages in September 2007.
Lance Batchelor, the chief executive of Tesco Mobile and Tesco Telecoms, said: “We want to help our customers get the very best deals, making it easier than ever for them to stay connected wherever they are.”
