The latest Alienware laptop to join the range of Dell laptops gaming machines is one of the smallest ever released, it has been claimed.

Indeed, the gaming laptop unit measures in at just 11-inches, giving it more in common with the average netbook than a souped-up hardcore gaming machine.

The Alienware M11x gaming laptops are deceptively well-specced for their size, packing more into their diminutive shells than you might imagine. Inside there's an Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, a switchable 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 335M graphics card and a 250GB hard drive.

The new gaming laptops also have a remarkable array of connections options, even more impressive when you consider their size. Users can hook them up to external displays via VGA or HDMI, or insert up to three USB devices.

Meanwhile, the card reader, Mini FireWire and SIM card slot ensures maximum usefulness in a minimalist form.
