Technology company Acer has recently quashed rumours that it would soon be launching a new line of laptops powered by Chrome OS. It had been suggested that the laptops would be revealed at the next Computex in Taiwan.
Acer released a short statement making it clear that the release of the much anticipated laptops would not be imminent. “Acer today confirms that it has not short-term plans for such a product”, the statement explained.
There is still some hope for expectant fans of Acer laptops however, as the company continued the statement by admitting interest in the software, stating that it is “naturally interested in any product or service that enhances the overall experience of its products.” While those hoping for Chrome OS based laptops this year may be disappointed, it doesn’t seem too optimistic to expect a release in the near future.
