Orange has confirmed that they will be providing monthly payment plans for Apple's latest gadget when it makes its international debut in May.
Orange already carries the iPhone on various payment plans and on some of the higher end contracts, the phone is offered for free. If the iPad follows in the iPhone's footsteps therefore, it might not be long before the iPad becomes a free laptop with mobile broadband.
The confirmation from Orange has stifled any rumours that rival network Vodafone would be the only UK carrier of the new iPad when it arrives.
Vodafone had already announced that it would be the first mobile broadband provider to offer the new Apple product but Orange's affirmation that it will "offer dedicated iPad price plans for all models from the end of May" proves that carrying of the iPad will not be exclusive.
