Intel has revealed a new concept laptop at the latest Computex in Taipei. The laptop, branded the ‘Canoe Lake’ has been called the thinnest netbook ever.
Amazingly, Canoe Lake measures only 14mm thick, 18 per cent smaller than the Macbook Air. It’s 10-inch display and ultra-light materials make it the thinnest, lightest and most portable laptop yet.
It’s specifications are no less impressive, if not for their processing power then simply for the fact that they have all been integrated into a laptop that can be picked up between the finger and thumb. It contains Intel’s GMA3150 graphics core, 2GB of memory, 120GB hard drive, 44kWh battery and Intel’s latest Atom N550 CPU. The processor also uses just 8.5W of power at 1.5 GHz meaning that the tiny laptop is energy efficient as well as extremely portable.
