Rumours are continuing to circulate about the imminent release of a Google-made budget netbook, with one source claiming to have seen specifications for the new machine.
While there has been talk for some time regarding the possibility of a Google netbook appearing in the near future, the company has been typically secretive about its plans.
Now, though, IBTimes is purporting to possess details of the architecture inside the so-called 'Googlebook' and claims that the new Google laptops will retail at under £300.
The list of reported features included:
- ARM CPU
- Nvidia Tegra HD-capable graphics
- 10.1-inch TFT display
- Multi-touch UI
- 64GB flash drive
- 2GB RAM
- Connection options including WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB ports
- Webcam
- 3.5mm audio jack
- Multi-card reader
Although confirmation of Google netbook technology is not yet forthcoming from the search engine giant, progress with the Chrome operating system – which will apparently help netbooks load up in super-quick time – suggests there may not be long to wait.
