The overriding trend for gaming laptops to be larger than their office-based counterparts is set to be overturned in 2010, if the latest news from manufacturer Alienware is anything to go by.
The company has developed a new gaming laptop which measures just 11.6-inches, making it, they say, by far the smallest in the world – and among the most powerful mini gaming laptops yet to be developed.
Exact details of the new Alienware mini gaming laptops are scarce at the moment, although the design is based on a shrunken down version of the company's M15x and M17x models, sharing with them the same distinctive lines and lighting effects.
The new gaming laptops will also feature interchangeable graphics cards, giving users the ability to switch from a dedicated gaming card to a less power and memory-intensive general set-up, thereby extending battery life.
The new Alienware gaming laptops will go on sale later in the Spring.
