News has come from France Telecom, parent company of Orange, that the Internet service provider has been rapidly losing mobile broadband customers.
Figures from France Telecom show that broadband subscriber numbers have dropped from 840,000 to 816,000 in the first quarter of 2010.
Though the 24,000 customer loss is an improvement from the 59,000 drop in 2009, the information will still come as a blow to Orange who recently merged with T-Mobile in the face of ever-increasing competition from broadband service providers.
It may not all be bad news though. Orange’s struggle has led to speculations that the company will be introducing more Free laptops with broadbabd deals in an attempt to attract more custom.
