Recent developments in cheap laptops could be a sign that the technology industry is swinging back from its feature-obsessed past and moving towards a simpler future.

One of the reasons for the sudden popularity of simplicity could be due to backlash from many feature-rich products which have failed to work because of their complicated software. A large part of the demand, however, comes from people living in developing countries who are increasingly becoming a huge part of the demographic at which cheap laptops are aimed.
