Those of you who have decided to down your cigarettes and pick up some nicotine patches as part of your new year's resolution have been given another incentive to give up.
According to reports coming over from the US, the company has refused to fix two unrelated Apple laptops and voided each user's warranty, citing the health dangers of second-hand smoke as the reason.
The Consumerist blog wrote that the owners of the Apple laptops sent them away for repair only to have them returned and told they were no longer covered by the firm's guarantee.
Commenting on the case, experts have warned that cigarette smoke could potentially be as harmful to laptops as it is to smokers' lungs because it covers the inner circuitry with a tar-like substance.
"Smoke and all of its by-products attach themselves to the computer's fans, heatsinks, capacitors, and anything else that has heat," explained one analyst.
